Fans send messages of encouragement to Azerbaijan

Fan club Red Devils grows during qualifying campaign

On Saturday 9 September, the Red Devils will play their next qualifying match for the 2024 European championship. They will travel to Azerbaijan, the furthest away trip during their qualifying campaign. To give the Devils a boost for their match all the way in Baku, the RBFA is sending messages of encouragement from fans.

“Even more than 3,500 kilometres from home, the Red Devils deserve the support of their fans. By embroidering fan messages on towels, the players will feel that encouragement all the way to the locker room. And those fans are many, because the fan club 1895 is experiencing significant growth during the current qualifying campaign. More than 11,200 supporters are members and follow the Red Devils closely.”

– Michaël Schockaert, marketing manager RBFA

#WirSchaffenDas campaign

With the #WirSchaffenDas campaign, the RBFA is rekindling the fire around the Red Devils. After the giant tifo full of names of supporters for the match in Sweden and the Red Devils Express – a bus convoy with Belgian supporters – for the friendly match against Germany, the red-hot King Baudouin stadium against Austria, the messages of encouragement in Baku are the fourth #WirSchaffenDas initiative.

Until Friday 8 September, supporters can send a personal message for their favourite player via the official RBFA app. The best messages are embroidered on towels, which are given to the Devils in the locker room. After the game – and a wash – the towels are delivered to the winning supporters.

For the match against Azerbaijan, the RBFA will organize the second edition of the 1895 Ambiance Café. A café in Landen will be completely transformed and decorated in Devil's red before the match.

And even after the game in Azerbaijan, the #WirSchaffenDas train continues to race. Because the fifth and sixth initiatives are also known: on Tuesday 12 September, before the home game against Estonia, the RBFA will launch a new – trilingual – anthem, and on Friday 13 October, it is counting on a legion of at least 2,000 fans in Austria

Fan club 1895 reaches 11,200 members

As part of the #WirSchaffenDas campaign, the RBFA is also organising initiatives to bring the Red Devils and their fans closer together. For example, it again invited supporters to a training session and organised signing sessions.

And activities are also scheduled during the upcoming international window. On Wednesday 6 September – during the second edition of the Fan Conference – two players will take the time to answer their fans' questions. Four days later, on Sunday 10 September, the quiz fanatics are up next. Ten members of the Fan Club 1895 and the Red Devils compete in a quiz.

The various initiatives have a clear impact on the fan club. Since the launch of the #WirSchaffenDas campaign – at the start of the qualifying campaign for the 2024 European championship in Germany – the number of members has grown by almost 1,400 members. The fan club now has more than 11,200 members. So the Devil's fever is completely back.
