Vincent Mannaert new sports director of RBFA

Vincent Mannaert will become the sports director of Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA). Mannaert will – from 1 December 2024 until the 2026 World Cup – be responsible for men's football.

Vincent Mannaert was CEO of Club Brugge for thirteen years. There, he won six national titles, one Belgian Cup and reached the group stage of the Champions League six times. He now puts that experience at the disposal of the RBFA. CEO Peter Willems and the RBFA board of directors wish to take the next step within the sports department with this appointment.

"I am very much looking forward to taking up the sporting leadership of RBFA. The Red Devils face an important challenge towards the 2026 World Cup, and I am very keen to put my passion and experience regarding high performance and talent development at the service of the federation and the national teams."

– Vincent Mannaert, sports director RBFA

"With his experience, strategic insight and passion for the sport, we believe Vincent Mannaert is the best choice as sports director. We have great confidence that he will take the national teams to a higher level, and further develop Belgian football in the long term. I look forward to working together, and to a successful sporting future under his leadership."
