Viki De Cremer will debut in Belgian professional football
Saturday 11 February 2023 will be a historic day for women's refereeing in our country.

After Claudine Brohet (2005), Viki De Cremer has been designated as the fourth official in the Challenger Pro League. De Cremer already accumulated extensive experience as a (FIFA) referee in women's football. She becomes the second woman in Belgian professional football.
Our Professional Refereeing Department is putting huge effort into women's refereeing in Belgium and it is clearly bearing fruit. Viki De Cremer (29) will be the second woman in professional football this Saturday during the match between KMSK Deinze and RSCA Futures. She will become the first woman in Belgian professional football to co-lead a match as fourth official.
Viki got involved in football at the age of six and started as a player in Peutie. When a knee injury forced her to quit at the age of 19, she followed her brother's footsteps and became a referee (Wesli De Cremer, semi-pro referee in the Jupiler Pro League).
On 7 February 2015, she refereed her first official U15 match and was active in all youth series for a year and a half. On 13 November 2016, she was promoted to the fourth provincial division as a referee and in the same year she made her debut in the Women's Super League. Meanwhile, Viki combined the role of referee with that of assistant referee. She earned her first FIFA badge as an international assistant referee in 2017.
That experience taught her a lot and in 2019, she was able to exchange her FIFA badge as assistant referee for that of head referee.
It took five years for De Cremer to move up through the provincial series and on 9 October she was allowed to compete in the third amateur division of the national series for the first time. This season she was promoted to the first amateur division and included in the TOP-BCORE talent group, which means she can now also be appointed as a fourth official in professional football.
