The RBFA congratulates the Brazil Football Association on having been chosen to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ 2027
BNG2027 – the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA), the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) and the German Football Association (DFB) – warmly congratulates the Brazilian Football Association on the decision of the FIFA Congress to choose Brazil as the host country for the 2027 Women's Football World CupTM.
Congratulations to the colleagues of the Brazilian Football Federation on this achievement, we wish them every success with the organisation. We are convinced that the 2027 World Cup will be a beautiful edition, hopefully with our Red Flames. We will – despite the disappointment – continue our efforts to grow women's football in our country, in Europe and worldwide."
– Piet Vandendriessche, CEO RBFA
While there is disappointment of losing today’s vote, the RBFA, KNVB and DFB recognise the choice for the bid of the Brazil Football Association bid and the spirit in which the process was conducted. The three federations are very proud of the efforts which have reminded everyone that Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany will always put themselves forward to the service of women's football globally.
The presidents and CEOs would like to thank their federal and regional governments for their support throughout the bidding process and the fellow member associations for the openness and interest that they have shown over recent times. The RBFA, KNVB and DFB look forward to engaging with them further in the months and years ahead as they pursue their objective to further develop women’s football.
BNG2027 commits to support the Brazilian Football Association and FIFA in ensuring the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ 2027 is a huge success and profiles the women’s game in its best light as it continues on its journey to fulfil its full potential.
