Red Devils auction jerseys for charity

Fans can bid on anniversary jerseys on the occasion of international matches against Denmark and Iceland to benefit Belgian Red Courts.

Over the next four years, the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) will renovate 40 soccer courts it built with support of UEFA 15 years ago. Those Belgian Red Courts will develop into meeting places for people of all ages. This will be one of the main social projects of the RBFA in the coming years. The Red Devils, proud sponsors of this community project, will help finance the Belgian Red Courts, starting this Saturday. They will auction their brand-new jerseys for the matches against Denmark and Iceland, as part of the 125th anniversary of the Association.

Our Red Devils will start a busy international match period with the first Nations League match against Denmark. They will play against Iceland three days later. The Devils will play in their new Adidas away jerseys for the first time in Denmark. The jersey for the home match against Iceland is also unique, as it features a special logo for the 125th Anniversary of the RBFA. Our national football heroes, as ambassadors of the Belgian Red Courts project, see this as a unique opportunity to auction off their match-worn jerseys for the Belgian Red Courts.

Match-worn collector’s items for Red Devils fans

Starting at kick-off time for Denmark - Belgium on Saturday 5 September at exactly 20:45, and for Belgium-Iceland from the starting whistle at 20:45, Red Devils fans can bid on these special, match-worn anniversary jerseys of the 11 players in the starting line-up. Any substitute’s jersey will also be made available immediately on the auction site matchwornshirt.com.

After the match, the jerseys of all 23 Red Devils on the match sheet will be posted on the auction site. Bids for all jerseys start at 89 Euro, the price of an official jersey. These match-worn jerseys for the two international matches are true collector’s items.

Hedeli Sassi, Football & Social Responsibility Coordinator at the Royal Belgian Football Association:

“We offer the jerseys unwashed. This way they are the most valuable to our fans. Please note that there is no health risk involved. Each jersey gets a UV-C treatment to remove any trace of viruses, bacteria and even DNA of our players from the jerseys. Only then will we send the jerseys to the winners of the auction.”

Football fans who wish to bid on a jersey can visit the website matchwornshirt.com/club/belgian-red-devils.
