End of collaboration between the RBFA and Elisabet Gunnarsdóttir

The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) announces that it has ended its collaboration with Elisabet Gunnarsdóttir , Head Coach of the Red Flames.

The RBFA wishes her good luck in the next stage of her career.

Pierre Locht, Sports Director of the Royal Belgian FA :

“We would like to thank Elisabet for her commitment to our Red Flames. Although the results did not meet expectations, Elisabet brought significant expertise in women’s football and succeeded in building a united group with many young players on whom we can build for the future. It is on this foundation that we intend to prepare the next milestones for our women’s national team.

Simon Mignolet, our Technical Manager, is currently working on the appointment of a new head coach and the formation of a new technical staff. This work forms part of a broader reflection on the structure and future of women’s football within the Royal Belgian FA.”

The Royal Belgian FA and Elisabet Gunnarsdóttir will make no further comments on this matter.
