Double first for Red Flames: dedicated home kit, in black

Brussels, 7 April 2022 - The RBFA and adidas are proud to present the new Red Flames jerseys for UEFA WEURO 2022. It is a double first: the Red Flames play in an outfit that was specifically designed for them for the first time and the home shirt is predominantly black instead of the traditional red. The Red Flames will be playing in the new kit for the first time tonight in the World Cup qualifier against Albania. The new jersey is made entirely from recycled Parley ocean plastic.

In the past, a jersey was usually presented for and by the Red Devils, with a derivative for the Red Flames, but now a completely new design has been chosen. This is to put the significant development and ambition of women's football in Belgium in the spotlight. To give this statement even more power, black was chosen as the striking basic colour. Red and yellow accents complete the Belgian tricolour. Just like the red shorts and socks, the yellow names and numbers of the players, and the yellow shorts as an alternative. As a tribute to the Red Flames and the development of women's football, the Red Devils will also wear the jersey once during one of the UEFA Nations League matches in June.

It's always nice to play in a new kit, especially this one because it's a real female kit and it looks good in black.

Besides the new home kit, adidas also introduces the new away kit of the Red Flames: a yellow ochre design with subtle graphic print and minimalistic federation logo.

It is a nice gesture that we get our own clothing line. The yellow ochre for the away matches is also a special and beautiful colour. It gives us the chance to shine and be unique in our own way.

Girl Power

Simultaneously with the Red Flames, adidas also unveils the outfits of Germany, Spain, Northern Ireland and Sweden for UEFA WEURO 2022. To underline the collective strength and uniqueness of each country, adidas presented the outfits at a special and fitting location: the London St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, where the Spice Girls shot the video for their world hit 'Wannabe'. It's a nod to their 'Girl Power' movement of the 90s, which paved the way for women through music similarly to how various women's teams are now doing through sport.

Availability

The home kit can be ordered in the webshop of the RBFA (https://shop.rbfa.be) and adidas. The new away shirt can be ordered soon and will be delivered mid-May.
